What the USB 4.0 standard offers is 8 times faster than USB 3.0, 5Gb / s data transfer rate, using the old-style connector.
At the beginning of March this year, it was introduced. But until today, the actual specifications are officially announced.
USB connectivity organizations have come together to launch an entirely new USB 4.0 standard.

Key improvements for the USB 4 standard over USB 3 include:
The speed is a lot faster
Standard USB 4.0 can achieve data transfer speed of 40Gb / s (about 5GB / s). This is twice the speed of the latest USB 3.2 standard and 8 times higher than the original USB 3.0 standard.
Compatibility with Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is Intel's proprietary USB 3 standard. That's something we can only see on Intel boards or licensed manufacturers.
However, Intel realized that such splitting was counterproductive. Therefore, Intel is currently free licensing of Thunderbolt 3 specifications.
That's why any company starting to make USB 4.0 devices or cables can make it compatible with Intel's Thunderbolt 3 standard.
Improve the separation of data and video signals
The USB 3 standard has allowed the use of a single cable to send data, power, and video signals simultaneously. But depending on how you set up. Sometimes it can only send one or the other, or the speed will be greatly reduced. USB 4 will improve this a lot better.
Another important thing is that the USB 4 standard will not use the new connector. The transition to the new USB-C connector is still causing some difficulties for users.
Therefore, if you change it again, it will become a disaster. Therefore, the USB 4 standard will still use the same connector type as USB 3.
However, we still do not know when a hardware device using USB 4 standard will be officially launched.
