Korea recorded an additional 161 cases of nCoV, bringing the total number of people infected to 763 and becoming the second largest outbreak in the world.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) today said it recorded 161 new cases of nCoV. This brought the total number of infected people to 763, of which 7 died.
Among the new infections, 129 were related to the Tan Thien Dia denominational church in Daegu city.
The latest death patient was a 62-year-old man. Health officials said he died at Cheongdo district hospital yesterday. KCDC does not explain whether this patient has an underlying disease.
Newly recorded cases make Korea the second largest outbreak in the world, after mainland China. Earlier, Diamond Princess yacht was considered the second largest outbreak of Covid-19 with a total of 634 cases.
The New Heavenly Sect became the focus of the Covid-19 outbreak in Daegu (It is the fourth largest city in Korea with 2.5 million inhabitants) after a 61-year-old female devotees infected the virus dozens of others.

The Ministry of Education of Korea has asked all kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools to postpone starting a new semester in a week. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense isolating 7,700 soldiers to prevent the virus from spreading.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam said that there are about 200,000 Vietnamese citizens living, studying and working in Korea. Particularly in Daegu city is 8,285 people, in North Gyeongsang Province is 18,502 people. Including 333 people in Cheongdo district.
The Vietnamese Embassy to South Korea has so far not detected cases of Vietnamese people infected or suspected of being infected with nCoV.
