After the failure of "Power Rangers" (2017), Paramount is currently planning to restart the brand with director Jonathan Entwistle.
According to Variety magazine, Paramount is negotiating with Jonanthan Entwistle to renew the Power Rangers brand - 5 superheroes. This is a very successful and popular filmmaker of Netflix.
Power Rangers was a familiar TV series in the 1990s and has three times been adapted into a movie. Most recently, in 2017, Lionsgate released a teenage-looking movie version.

However, plans to open up new brands soon broke. After spending Lionsgate about $ 105 million to produce. Dean Israelite's Power Rangers (2017) earned just US $ 141 million.
The film was criticized for its tedious content, unattractive action, misuse of product ads, as well as other too far from the original. Accordingly, the post-production project for 2019 was immediately scrapped, despite suggestions from the film's ending.
Paramount quickly acquired the rights to the film adaptation of Power Rangers. Recently, they hired screenwriter Patrick Burleigh (Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway) to develop the new movie content.

Since 2018, the Power Rangers trademark belongs to Hasbro. The famous toy company still holds G.I. Joe, Transformers, Micronauts and ROM. Recently, there has been much information that Hasbro is hatching a cinematic universe combining brand groups.
However, it is unclear whether Power Rangers will be part of that bold plan, or whether Paramount will stand alone.
