Air Protein is a start-up company in San Francisco Bay (USA) that claims to have the technology to make meat from CO2 which is considered to cause the warming of the atmosphere.

The US company is based on the idea of more than half a century ago of the US Space Agency (NASA): reuse the CO2 emitted by astronauts in the space of a space shuttle for processing back to food.

The word "fermented meat"

Due to the production in closed jars and containers, producers do not need land and thus do not harm the environment.

In terms of nutrition, this "meat from the air" is made up of 9 major amino acids like that of "real meat" and thus it is more complete than the "vegetarian meat" made from soy or peas granules (petit pois). Not to mention the meat of Air Protein also contains more vitamins like B12, than the existing "vegetarian meat" which is inherently lacking in nutrients for those who choose a vegetarian diet.

Air Protein said it expects to enter the "meat from the air" market by 2020. The vegetarian market is now considered to be optimistic: according to the UK Bank of Barclays, this market could be up to 140 billion USD in the next 10 years.

Coming to "meat 3D"
In the future, astronauts may enjoy a hearty "fresh meat" meal outside the Earth after scientists successfully experimented using 3D printers to produce meat on Space Station. international headquarters (ISS).
