Marvel Studios kicks off the entire Marvel cinematic universe (MCU) with the Iron Man movie (2008). They turn Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) from the playboy billionaire into the number one superhero in the world. Since then, Downey and Iron Man have been the central characters of the MCU, leading the Avengers team in gatherings. However, the Iron Man era has ended, Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame.

After the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos collected all 6 Infinity Stones, claiming half of life in the universe. In the sequel, the original Avengers team and a number of allies recovered the stones to bring people back. To do this, Iron Man invented the Infinity Gauntlet. The Hulk is the one who performs the snap because he is the only one strong enough to withstand the impact of the Infinity Stones.
At the end of the film, when he realized that he could not defeat the Thanos army, Iron Man used the Infinity Gauntlet to finish off the enemy. The body of an ordinary person could not withstand the power of the stones, so Iron Man died soon after.

After Avengers: Endgame hit theaters, fans around the world devised different ways to honor Iron Man. The latest, according to Krypton Radio, an Iron Man statue was erected in the town of Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany, Italy. The monument, called "The Steel Man", is accompanied by the message:
"The first monument dedicated to Iron Man after his death in the movie universe. We honor Tony Stark as a man devoted to his life struggling for the ideal of living ...
Remind us that everyone is the main character in our lives. The future of mankind depends on our own decision and we are all superheroes! ".

Iron Man and actor Robert Downey Jr. is an important pillar of the MCU. The scene of his sacrifice is sure to be remembered by Marvel fans for many years to come. Understanding this, the sculptor Basso built the work honoring a character deeply rooted in popular culture. This is reminiscent of the movie Spider-Man: Far From Home, when people around the world put candles, flowers and commemorative paintings after Iron Man sacrificed for human life.
Although in the real world, Iron Man is only a fictional character, but his impact on the audience is undeniable.
