Not located in a remote location or an underdeveloped economy, this sad title belongs to Disneyland in Hong Kong, China.

On a sunny Friday late summer, the conditions are perfect for a family to take their children on recreation. Disneyland in Hong Kong is sparsely populated. Many of them are service personnel. The empty scenery covered everywhere, far different from the scene where people jostle people often see.

Exciting adventurous games, which often require players to spend half an hour waiting in line, are now littered with people. The lunch area, where people often have a hard time finding a seat, is now full of empty tables.

This sad scene has not just taken place recently. Throughout the summer, Hong Kong Disneyland always looks like that.

Disneyland is the latest victim of protracted protests in this special administrative region. Hundreds of millions of Hong Kong people, many of them young people, took to the streets to march to put pressure on the special government. It originates from the controversial extradition bill. However, when this bill was declared dead, the situation was not yet progressing.

The protests have had a strong impact on Hong Kong's economy. Paul Chan, the Minister of Finance in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said the number of tourists to Hong Kong had decreased slightly in July compared to the same period last year but decreased by 40% in August.

The hotel business in Hong Kong is also affected. Chan said hotel occupancy rates have halved while room rates have also dropped by 40 to 70 percent. Visitors to Hong Kong International Airport also decreased by 12.4% in August compared to the same period last year.

Afaizul Ashari, a Malaysian tourist, said: "This is my second time going to Disneyland Hong Kong. Last time, when politics was stable, I saw every game was full of participants. I used to have to wait 30 minutes. to my turn but now only 5 minutes left. Now, only a few people left walking on the immense road ".

The decline in the number of tourists is considered the main cause of the absence of Disneyland. Summer, the peak tourist season, could not save this amusement park and the tourism industry of Hong Kong. The image of violence on the streets makes it removed from the list of destinations for tourists worldwide, including mainland China.
