Intel Core 9th-gen processors
Intel posted an interesting official document on its webpage this week. The massive tech company revealed upcoming 9th-gen Intel Core H-series CPUs.
The list of recently revealed chips goes from mid-range Core i5 processors up to very high-end Core i9 devices.

Intel 9th-generation H-series processor chips have Intel’s newest Coffe Lake microarchitecture. Coffee Lakes is a series of 14nm chips.
H-series CPUs target the high-performance mobile market, such as mobile workstations and gaming laptops. As a result, the average thermal design power of the series is a modest 45W TDP.
If you’re unsure of Intel’s terminology, I can help you. The “H” stands for high-performance graphics. However, H processors don’t necessarily ship with an upgraded integrated graphics over their predecessors. Also, take note that integrated Intel graphics cards are sub-par compared to complete GPUs.

Intel Core 9th-gen H-series specs

Similar to their desktop brothers, the 9th-gen H-series Intel processor chips pack Intel UHD Graphics 630 and support DDR4 2,666 memory.
First, we find the Intel Core i9-9980HK. It’s the top model of the H-series. As said by the “K” suffix, the i9-9980K is the sole model of the H-series coming with an unlocked multiplier for overclocking.
The processor comes with eight cores, 16 threads, and 16MB of L3 cache. Intel has listed the i9-9980HK with a boost clock of 5GHZ, which is probably single and dual-core boost speed.
Next, the i9-9880H is second in command in the H-series family. The core and cache are identical to the model above. However, the i9-9880H has a locked multiplier and a 4.8GHz boost speed.
Now we find the mid-range models, starting with the i7-9850H and the i7-9650H. Both processors have six cores, 12 threads, and 12MB of L3 cache. The first has a boost clock of 4.6GHZ, while the other one has the clock set at 4.5GHz.
And finally, we find the cheaper models: i5-9400H and i5-9300H. The bottom entries of the H-series processor family feature four cores, eight threads, and 8MB of L3 cache. The i5-9300H has the clock set at 4.1GHz, while the i5-9400H has a 4.3 clock boost.

About Intel Coffee Lake

Coffee Lake is the manufacturing code to both 8th-gen and 9th-gen processors.
To find a Coffee Lake processor, you would have to look at its model number. 9,000 and 8,000 numbers are part of the Coffee Lake family.
The microarchitecture uses 14 nm chips. Technically, the tech company is behind the curve, as AMD is already using 12nm chips on their Ryzen CPUs and already shipped a the 7nm AMD Radeon VII GPU.
The most significant factor of Coffee Lake, though, is an increase in performance across the board without that much of an increase in the price tag.
