Detects bacteria that can prevent cancer
Staphylococcus epidermidis usually parasites on human skin, which can prevent the development of certain types of cancer. This is the latest study published in Science Advances, USA.
According
to the scientists, this is the only strain of bacteria that produces a
chemical called 6-HAP that can destroy certain types of cancer cells
without affecting normal cells.
The team tested in mice and found that mice that did not have the virus had more melanoma on their skin after being exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Mice with the above bacteria do not have these tumors.
